Our conservation Zoos, London and Whipsnade, aim to inspire change, educate the next generation of conservationists and protect the survival of species. Without our incredible teams working within our Zoos, none of this would be possible. We have a wide range of roles and functions for you to kick-start your career or to bring your valued experience. Our Zoo sites offer diverse career pathways from zookeeping and animal husbandry, community outreach and education, site operations, and commercial business development.
Some of the roles within our conservation Zoos are linked to the specific site, whilst others span both locations to provide collaboration and partnership across the ZSL brand. By joining our conservation Zoo teams, you will become part of a network of staff, volunteers, and supporters in a unique setting, inspired by our rich heritage developed over the last 200 years.

Junior Merchandiser Ariana Theodoro Working at ZSL has been an amazing experience. As a member of the buying and merchandising team, I've found a welcoming and collaborative culture. The shared passion for animal conservation unites all teams, making it the most inspiring and purpose-driven workplace I've ever been a part of.
Learning Officer, Whipsnade Zoo Marcus Merriman Saying I work at Whipsnade Zoo’ really doesn’t get old. Teaching young people about our diverse range of species and our incredible conservation, truly is a pleasure, and my own childhood dream come true. I believe I am championing wildlife and doing it in the most incredible setting. Working for ZSL is feeling like you are playing your part in protecting endangered species. The incredible education team and I inspire and empower young people to take conservation into their own hands. Plus, is there a better place for a lunch time walk than Whipsnade Zoo?
Team Leader, Overnight Experiences Josh Pope Starting as a volunteer, then becoming a member of staff, no two days at ZSL have ever been the same. I have been given numerous opportunities to progress my abilities, while still working towards the important goals of ZSL and being a part of an open and accepting organisation.
