Purpose of the role

ZSL’s London's Site Operations team have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a full-time position to join the Logistics department. Reporting into the Logistics Manager, you will be influential in bolstering the team with their departmental goals and aims and completing routine briefs in various areas such as the post room, animal food stores, stockrooms, and transport. 

The role will involve engaging with key stakeholders from keepers to external suppliers and arranging orders whilst ensuring stock rotation is adhered too. The successful candidate will play an integral role in animal feed preparation and be empowered in all aspects of animal food stores. 
 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Drive and use a variety of vehicles and plant e.g., forklift trucks, vans, trucks, and cars.
  • Prepare food for the animals which involves handling raw meat and animal by-products. 
  • Place orders with approved suppliers using correct methods.
  • Engage with animal teams and nutritionist in relation to diet requests. 
  • Send emails to appropriate internal and external contacts and amend or create other documents within Microsoft Office.

About You

This role requires:
 
  • Experience in stock management processes including cleaning, rotation and housing of goods. 
  • Good interpersonal skills in working as part of a team and ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and to work on their own initiative to complete tasks. 
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy goods of up to 20kg.
  • Full clean UK driving license with no endorsements.
