Retail Seasonal Sales Assistant - 12 hours a week

Working in Retail at London Zoo is a truly unique experience and a job like no other!  Our Sales Assistants deliver excellent customer service to all to enhance our visitors experience.  Working in a variety of shops including Tiny Giants, Penguin Beach, Reptile Kiosk, our seasonal marshmallow fire pit and our Exit shop you will be required to work on a till, serve customers, and provide excellent product knowledge. After trading hours, our team is required to process the delivery, re-stock the shops, and reset the standard for the next day.  Every Friday night in June and July  we support with Zoo nights with our marshmallow toasting fire pit and Penguin Pool activities.

• Minimum of 12 hours per week and must be able to work until the 02/09/2025
•  Start date 24th - 28th March 2025
• Multiple roles available 
• 5 month seasonal contract  
• Shifts are either 6 or 7.5 hours
• Must be able to work weekends, Bank Holidays and to 9pm.

Key responsibilities:  

• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening/weekend and bank holiday shifts.
• A consistently positive and energetic approach is required.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• An understanding of appropriate cash-handling procedures.
• An interest in animal conservation is desirable.
• Be comfortable and able to work outside for long periods in all weathers
• when requested, to assist, support and operate remote retail sites (in some instances these maybe outside of London Zoo grounds e.g.pop up shops).
