Purpose of the role

ZSL is seeking a full-time Supporter Contact Coordinator to join our dynamic team at ZSL London Zoo. The primary goal of the Supporter Contact team is to deliver exceptional customer service, acting as the main point of contact for general inquiries. The team also facilitates the sale and booking of ZSL’s products and experiences. This role involves engaging with supporters through inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, and face-to-face interactions to drive revenue for ZSL. The position is based on-site and includes weekend shifts as part of a rotating schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all forms of supporter contact, including phone, email, mail, chat, social media, and administrative tasks.
  • Actively listen to feedback, using it to drive positive changes and improvements.
  • Maximize revenue through effective service and sales opportunities.
  • Provide world-class customer service that aligns with ZSL’s mission.
  • Promote ZSL's work, inspiring, informing, and empowering people to protect wildlife and prevent extinction.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, including GDPR and PCI standards.

About You

  • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a team and supporting colleagues.
  • Good understanding of what constitutes excellent customer service. A people person and a natural communicator.
  • Knowledge of customer service systems such as PureCloud.
  • An ability to handle difficult situations whilst maintaining calm and positive attitude.
  • Sound experience in a sales, customer-facing or supporter services/contact environment.
  • Understanding logistics of a non-profit organisation and actively embrace the values of ZSL both in and outside of work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and a high level of credibility are a must for this role.
  • Good working knowledge of external rules and regulations that impact on the team’s work – specific focus on Bankers Automated Clearing Systems (BACS) for direct debit processes, and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) for Gift Aid processes.
    CRM System knowledge of Tessitura is desirable.
  • Intermediate skills in using MS office packages, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written skills with an ability to handle complex queries articulately.
